Buckeye Lake Pier

The Buckeye Lake Pier Development project will plan and design a waterfront destination at North Shore State Park that serves as a recreational resource and destination for all. The creation of a new Buckeye Lake Pier and master plan for future development will define the region as a place where healthy communities and dynamic environments are fully united, and resident community members and visitors celebrate the lake together. Through years of conversations and study, the community is clear in its support for amenities along the lake that will both serve area residents and attract visitors to the region.

The Buckeye Lake Pier Development project is taking place in three phases:

  • Phase 1: Identify – Potential sites were analyzed based on accessibility and engineering feasibility to confirm the pier design is able to be located on the site that is preferred by the community.
  • Phase 2: Refine, and Phase – Refine includes a Conceptual Pier Design and a Town Master Plan. Phase 2 includes community engagement to refine the vision for the pier program and preferred design concept.
  • 3: Develop – Develop will include Preliminary and Final Engineering documentation for the preferred Conceptual Pier Design. After this project, the pier design will be ready for execution documents and fundraising, followed by construction.

The planning and design process is supposed to be completed by Spring 2021.

Buckeye Lake Brewery

A local brewery with a taproom serving draft beer, local wine, and bourbon. It also has to-go sales and growler fills. It opened on Feb 5, 2012. Rich Hennosy (Owner) never wanted to reinvent beer. He just wanted to provide the Buckeye Lake area with a source for fresh beers that are brewed to style. Since opening, they have changed that philosophy just a bit. They have found that craft beer drinkers love to try everything. They have experimented with the casks and will continue to experiment with ingredients a bit more, without abandoning the traditional styles that the customers love so much.

Most of the names of the beer have some connection to Buckeye Lake’s present or past.
